Disasters can occur anytime and anywhere. Indonesia is a disaster-prone area due to being surrounded by three active tectonic plates and a series of active volcanoes that are part of the ring of fire. Hydrological conditions also greatly influence natural phenomena such as tornadoes, floods, flash floods, and landslides. These disasters need to be managed from pre-disaster to post-disaster stages to ensure that various prevention and control efforts can run smoothly.

The Master’s Program in Disaster Management, Graduate School, Airlangga University, is a multidisciplinary study program designed to produce graduates in the field of disaster management with profiles as professionals in disaster management, researchers capable of developing and conducting disaster research, as well as managers who actively oversee disaster management activities to achieve desired objectives.

Based on the Regulation of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia Number 53 of 2023 concerning Quality Assurance in Higher Education, the Master’s level has a burden of 54 credits. This provision will be effective in the next two years as a transitional adjustment. Now is the time to study for a Masters at MSHP with a current study load of 40 credits. Partnership collaboration classes are available for government or private agencies or professional and community organizations.
