News of UNAIR Postgraduate School, 5 Jun 2021 – Postgraduate School of Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) held a WORKSHOP SYSTEMATIC LITERATURE REVIEW (DOCTORAL STUDY PROGRAM FOR HUMAN RESOURCES DEVELOPMENT). Present as a resource person, namely Dr. (Cand) Elisabeth Supriharyanti, S.E., M.Si, as a lecturer at Widya Mandala Catholic University Surabaya. Also present as moderator Dr. (Cand) Fiona Niska Dinda N, S.E., M.SM as Head of UNAIR Graduate School Scientific Publication Unit. This event will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2021.
Starting with his remarks, Fendy thought that one of the prerequisites for graduation for UNAIR students themselves must be writing after graduation, and this requires a long process. Making scientific papers requires patience too, because they also have to be tolerant if rejected by the editorial team and look for new journals. Of course, new journals require new writing formats as well, so it takes longer.
Elisabeth describes a systematic literature review (SLR) as a literature review, both with software and manuals to find research gaps. SLR collects and critically analyzes a collection of studies to find research gaps so that the analysis process and syntax of research gaps can be done systematically. SLR is a scientific method, to reduce bias so that it can answer certain research questions.
He also added that SLR is like mapping so that it can bring up novelty that can answer research questions. SLRs focus on one variable, so they are not complicated. For Scopus indexed journals, medical majors are the ones that use the SLR method the most. Especially to overcome the limitations of data collection due to the COVID-19 pandemic, SLR can be a solution for medic researchers to publish new papers. In total, between 201 and 2021, there were 57,132 medical papers using SLR on the Scopus web page.
Data using SLR is easy to map points, especially in mapping research problems. In addition, the citation of articles with SLR citations is quite high, but it still depends on where we publish our paper. For medical majors, one of the SLRs follows the PRISMA protocol. SLR can also use the method by Transfield, which must prepare a plan, then conduct a review, then report a description of the results of the review.
