Current debates caused, among others, by erosion of liberal international order are bringing into fore the importance of regionalism projects. Regionalism is at the center of scholarly and policy debates for many different reasons. It can concern fate of regionalism projects (Brexit), (in) action of regional organizations in addressing peace and security challenges (ASEAN) or role of regional frameworks in design of alternative visions of international order (Belt and Road Initiative or Eurasian Economic Union).
Regional organizations from Africa, Americas, Asia, Europe and Eurasia increasingly engage, establish and enhance dialogue mechanisms. Understanding the logic of regionalism in post-Covid global order necessitates an in-depth comparative approach which sees regionalism as a lasting feature of world order.
