News of UNAIR Postgraduate School, 25 May 2021 – Postgraduate School of Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) held a Halal Bihalal event accompanied by the launch of CENTER OF GOOD GOVERNANCE AND BUREAUCRACY REFORM. In collaboration with the Republic of Indonesia Police Department, Postgraduate School of UNAIR also appointed Brigadier General Pol. Dr. Juansih, Dra., S.H., M.Hum from LEMDIKLAT POLRI as a Lecturer approved by Prof. Badri Munir Sukoco as Director of UNAIR Postgraduate School. This event was held on Tuesday, May 25, 2021.
Badri explains that university ranking was pride in itself by university rectors. In addition, impact ranking, where research related to sustainable development goals (SDG) has an impact on the global. The most important research is in the health sector, where the COVID-19 pandemic needs more of the latest innovations to overcome the spread of the virus, which has many variants.
Badri also said that before reaching world standards, Airlangga University, where he is sheltering, had to adjust to national standards first. How to lead transformational leaders is the key point to overcome the multidimensional global solutions. Social problems that exist in society must now be familiar, adaptive, and respond quickly to changes in society, so that they can find quick solutions as well. Therefore, curriculum redesign at universities is needed, coupled with presenting transformative leaders to share their knowledge with academics.
Apart from curriculum redesign, another effort by UNAIR Postgraduate School in contributing to solving community problems is by presenting these leaders through the Airlangga Forum. This forum was held as a forum for providing insights from these transformative leaders to academics, as well as policymakers. This is to provide different perspectives for policymakers, both in government agencies and higher education on how leaders with all challenges try to use their resources effectively with a much better impact.
Meanwhile, Juansih argues that in many studies related to women, violence still haunts women. Therefore, it is necessary to formulate a concept to bridge between law enforcers and the many cases of criminal offenses that make children and women victims. With the rapid advancement of technology, police officers need to study deeper through higher education so that human resources are superior to providing the best service to society with various innovations in the field of public services.
In addition, it is hoped in the future more Indonesian Police will study at the Postgraduate School to increase cooperation with NGOs and universities that have centers for women’s empowerment studies. This is to open deeper insights regarding the implementation of the prevention system and the response to cases of violence against children and women. POLRI members are also expected to learn about international relations and lessons about international Interpol so that they can prepare them for how to appear in the international world.
