Podcast AirlanggaForum, 25 Feb 2021 – In the development of knowledge, especially in the laws and regulations at the Graduate School of Airlangga University that supports the development of later. It is expected that this inaugural public lecture provides an inspiration for students in the course of one semester in future studies. Therefore, The Graduate School of Airlangga University held its first public lecture themed “Law and Governance Post-Pandemic”. The event was attended by several speakers, namely Dr. H. Soekarwo, S.H., M.Hum (Member of the Presidential Advisory Council of the Republic of Indonesia), Dr. Radian Salman, S.H., LL.M (KPS mshp program), Prof. Badri Munir Sukoco (Director of The Graduate School of Airlangga University), Assoc. Prof. Suparto (Deputy Director III of Airlangga University).

According to Dr.H. Soekarwo, political meaning is all policies or legal lines in order to achieve the goals of the state. The politics of national law to achieve the state objectives are set out in the opening of the 1945 Constitution. In addition, the politics of national law must also be based on the basis of the state of Pancasila based on religious morals, human rights without discrimination, putting power from and by the people, and then realizing social justice. Protecting all elements of the nation is the politics of law for the integration or needs of the State and includes the values of social justice, people’s sovereignty, and legal sovereignty.

On the side of the direction of national legal development as Mr. Dr. H. Soekarwo conveyed, that one of them is to create legal certainty that must be clear direction and include actual problems in society. In addition, globalization also has a big influence on our laws that focus on improving legal certainty, legal protection in society, law enforcement, and also human rights protection.

From the shortcomings and some obstacles in implementing the law in Indonesia during this pandemic, Mr. Sukarwo gave suggestions and proposals that include strengthening bureaucratic capacity in the mastery of digital-based applications, then improving education to the community, especially the transition of manual services to online, followed by the equalization of digital-based infrastructure development, especially in areas outside Java and the outer regions, to maximize culture , literacy and political education that massif to society by utilizing digital systems.

He also told Pof. Badri Munir Sukoco that students are not only in the college environment, but also must build a place that can be philosophically developed, and float especially in the field of legal knowledge and political development of democracy in Indonesia.
