Guest Lecture, Associate Professor Ashish Malik, Univ. Newcastle, Australia: The Missing Link in Employee Engagement

News UNAIR Postgraduate School, 5 Oct 2022 – Technologies has been growth rapidly. One of the proofs is with the appearance of the Artificial Intelligent (AI). AI already helps and improved many aspects of human live, including on employment aspect. AI helps employer and/or HR practitioner to improved their HR management skill. One of it is to improved practice based on high performance rate. This is beneficiary for them to improved their business growth.

To be noted, the used of AI in HR Management also have its own flaws. Some of it is the lack of human aspect regarding the relation between employer to employee et cetera. This later impacted on how the management run. On the other side, an inter-generation employee also brings up a new challenge to the plate. Not every generation has the same digital-literation rate, hence the use of AI can be frustrating for some employee. All of these challenges also been combined with the reality on how delicate HR management been practices. Therefore, AI must be used wisely by the practitioner.

To deal this such obstacle, it is a requirement for the practitioner to have a unique knowledge. This knowledge can be obtained by exploiting an inter-disciplinary approach on this matter. Since AI still a new thing and the limited knowledge on this issue, an understanding knowledge based on inter-disciplinary approach is a must. This also needed to be backup with trust. Since AI has been in cooperated at almost human lives, trust is needed so AI can be used properly for the beneficiary of the business and also for the employee.
