Postgraduate School Universitas Airlangga held the first academic meeting via online on Tuesday (22/12). The first academic meeting carried out a theme “Making Transformative Leaderships that Impacts the World”. This program is planned to be held routinely every beginning and end of the semester. This program was also attended by the official leaders of Postgraduate School Universitas Airlangga, such as the Director of Postgraduate School Prof. Badri Munir Sukoco, the Vice Director I of Postgraduate School Assoc. Prof. Rudi Purwono, the Vice Director II of Postgraduate School Prof. Sri Pantja Madyawati, and the Vice Director III of Postgraduate School Assoc. Prof. Suparto Wijoyo.
This program was opened by Assoc. Prof. Suparto with an opening prayer and continued by the Director of Postgraduate School who explained about the challenges that will be faced by the people of Indonesia such as demography bonus and gap between generations. He also elaborated the vision of Postgraduate School to be a world-class institution by developing a transformative leader to make a better world. The improve of organizational health in Postgraduate School also becomes the priority thing to do. He suggested all the students to have a good communication so that later the Postgraduate School can give the best solution if they need something in the future.
This first discussion forum described the purpose and performance of Postgraduate School in the last three months. For branding, it was reported that all branding activities will be coordinated with the media digital team (public information system unit). The social media of Postgraduate School such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Tik Tok also gain an increasing number of visitors with the rating of 10.000 each day.
In academic section, the Immunology Master Program has achieved an A-rank predicate of accreditation. The target for March 2021 is for the Human Resource Development Master Program to be Internationally accredited (ABEST21). Other than that, there is also the academic script making for the newest 7 study programs, such as Health Economic Master Program, Data Science Master Program, Culture and Creative Industry Master Program, Entrepreneurship Master Program, Veterinary Pharmacy Master Program, Population Administrative Master Program, Women Empowerment Master Program with a target that all of those newest study programs will be officially approved by Universitas Airlangga in January and will have accreditation from BAN-PT/LAM-PT KES in February.
In this chance, there was also a student academic monitoring discussion and explanation about efforts to make student graduation easier by redesigning the curriculum, making the lesson plan and syllabus of the semester, giving facilitations for students who have practitioner lectures, and monitoring system for thesis/dissertation. From the data, the Postgraduate School has tried to establish cooperation with various realms. This effort has made some of the collaborations with International parties for arranging some programs to support the academic process and strengthen the relation between alumni through the reunion that is held online. Also, the Postgraduate School has shown the devotion to the nation by embodying the Three Pillars of Higher Education in community service through these two programs, “Airlangga Forum: Talking the Problems, Looking for Wisdom, Solutions for the Nation” and “Sahabat Perspektif”, collaborate with the Local Public Broadcasting Institution (LPPL) East Java and Suara Sidoarjo. The Director of Postgraduate School with other close ranks also stated their wish regarding the big agenda that will be run and asked for the supports from every party such as the lecturers, staffs, alumni, and surely the students of Postgraduate School Universitas Airlangga in contributing to the success of the planned targets with an expectation that Postgraduate School will give an impact to the world.
