Currently throughout the world emerging various types of diseases, both non-infectious diseases and infectious diseases. For example: (1) non-infectious diseases such as malignant disease / cancer, metabolic disease (obesity and diabetes mellitus); (2) infectious diseases mainly caused by viruses include HIV (human deficiency virus), DV (dengue virus), SARS (systemic acute respiratory syndrome), etc. Since pharmacologic treatment has not given optimal results, it is necessary to think about its handling strategies such as determining early diagnostics, preventive measures, or developing passive immunotherapy. To respond to these challenges, the Immunology Study Program has a very important role both in terms of diagnostic development (making diagnostic kitt), preventive (vaccine making) and curative (monoclonal antibody or ScFv (single chain fragment variable). Therefore, the Postgraduate Master Program of Postgraduate Immunology of Airlangga University equips its students with a flexible way of thinking that arises creative and innovative ideas based on immunological knowledge and modern immunobiotechnology, so that its graduation will be able to compete at national and international level, especially in the prevention of infectious diseases and non-infections. Therefore, a vision-mission is formulated as follows:

Organizing education, tailored to the development needs of the community both in the present and future which is focused on the development of disease prevention technology in terms of preventive, diagnostic and curative, especially in tropical diseases.
Organizing education that builds the management system in an effort to encourage students, in order to improve the competitiveness of the nation both in planning, management and or implementation and development of Immunology laboratory, both in basic research and applied research.

Communicator: The graduates of Immunology Study Program of Postgraduate Program of Airlangga University can convey opinions, ideas on Immunology about the development of disease both infectious diseases and non-infectious as well as developing technology in the prevention and development of immunotherapy from diseases to the community.
Care Provider: The graduates of Immunology Study Program of Postgraduate Program Airlangga University are able to provide services to the community, through the development of science and technology, especially on the development of disease prevention.
Decision Maker: The graduates of Immunology Study Program of Postgraduate Program of Airlangga University can take a decision in solving the problem of science and technology in the field of immunology especially determine the quality and validity of bio-product result obtained from research result oriented to the development of vaccine and diagnostic kitt.
